French collectors own the works that are shown in this exhibition, and the display--designed to recreate their living space in the exhibition room--is very popular. At the Mori Art Museum, we posed three questions in order to find out about their ideas and perspectives regarding contemporary art, directing them in the first segment to Jerome and Emmanuelle de Noirmont, a couple who manage an art gallery.

■Profile
In addition to managing a gallery, based in Paris, the couple organizes exhibitions at galleries and museums throughout the world.
A: We are contemporary art gallerists.
We are settled in Paris and represent artists such as Valérie Belin, George Condo, Claudine Drai, Fabrice Hyber, Jeff Koons, David Mach, Shirin Neshat, A.R. Penck, Pierre & Gilles or Bettina Rheims.
A: We collect art first because that's our passion; after our children, it is our reason to live. We do not collect art as a selfish pleasure, but to share it with our family and close friends, and to see the creations of contemporary artists. Art is life, and contemporary art is the reflect of our time and its concerns. That's the reason why we collect art, which helps us in understanding others, differences between cultures and to give our life a sense.
A: Despite the fact that we are art gallerists and that we represent specific artists, we collect from different cultures and periods; Concerning the contemporary art part of our collection, we do not limit our consideration to the sole artists represented by the gallery (of whom we of course own works), but we always keep an eye on Miquel Barcelo, Cady Noland or the great design creator Martin Szekely.
