Here’s how you can take part in the Stamp Rally:
1. | The first time you attend one of the events eligible for the Stamp Rally, pick up a card at the event's reception desk. |
2. | Enter your name on the card. |
3. | After every event you attend, get your card stamped once at the reception desk. |
4. | When you have five or more stamps on your card, hand it in at the event’s reception desk. The first 30 visitors to do so will receive their prize. |
* If more than 30 people apply for the prize, the information kit recipients will be chosen by lot.
* The cards can be issued and stamped only during the eligible events.
* Only one card per person will be issued.
* Personal details entered on the card will be used exclusively for the purpose of the Stamp Rally, and will not be used for any other purpose.

"The Multi Worlds of Multi-Talented Andy Warhol"
8 lectures featuring invited specialists presenting a comprehensive reassessment of many aspects of Andy Warhol's multi-genre creative activity in painting, experimental film and video, and pop culture.
The exhibition curators from The Andy Warhol Museum and the Mori Art Museum will introduce the worldwide popularity of Warhol's art and the overall concept and highlights of the exhibition. In addition, a talk entitled “Exactly Wrong: Medium and Technique in the Work of Andy Warhol” will be given by Nicholas Chambers, reviewing Warhol's approach to technique and media with examples from various works Warhol produced as a student, in the 1950s as a commercial designer, and from the 1960s-1980s.

We know the works by Andy Warhol, but what do we actually know about Warhol himself? Having been active on various planes and with extensive media exposure, Warhol is cloaked in diverse images. Hayashi Takayuki, author of an illustrated monograph of Warhol, and Mori Art Museum exhibition curator will give a comprehensive overview of Warhol the artist in a joint gallery talk surveying the works on display in the exhibition.

Lecture #3: Time Capsules and Japan * Japanese-English simultaneous interpretation available * subject to Stamp Rally
Warhol saved items from his everyday life in more than 600 cardboard boxes. These Time Capsules contain artifacts valuable in giving us a glimpse of Warhol's life and reality. We can also get a sense of Warhol's interest in Japan, through photos and publications contained in the boxes. Matt Wrbican, who has extensively studied the Time Capsules, will speak on how the materials of Time Capsule 61 relate to important events in Warhol's life, and will also shed light on Warhol's Japan-related materials.

Miyashita Kikuro, respected scholar of Warhol studies in Japan, will speak mainly on paintings from the 1960s including the connection between Warhol's Death and Disaster series, and memento mori and vanitas paintings in Western art history. He will also discuss the specter of death apparent in Warhol's later work.

A large-scale installation of Warhol's known as the Rain Machine was exhibited at Expo '70 Osaka.
Although the original masterpiece does not exist any longer, a reproduction of Rain Machine will be on display at the exhibition.
With an introduction to its production, the lecture will re-examine this lesser known work of art.

Cultural Studies specialist Mouri Yoshitaka will discuss Warhol's studio, The Factory - not only the site of Warhol's production of artworks, but also a gathering place for all sorts of people, from politicians to rock musicians together with the dissemination of all kinds of ideas and activities, such as filmmaking and music, and performance.

Declaring that he was retiring as an artist to concentrate on filmmaking, Warhol made many film and video masterpieces, such as Empire (1964) and Sleep (1963), in the mid-1960s. Nishimura Tomohiro, foremost authority on Warhol's films and videos, will analyze important less known Warhol films in the context of Warhol's overall production of art.

Inspired by American popular culture and Pop Art, artists from all over the world created works incorporating the artistic language of Pop Art. Scholar of post-war art Ikegami Hiroko will speak about the global spread of Warhol's art and Pop Art, focusing on the special features of Japanese Pop Art and artists such as Tanaami Keiichi.

Ikegami Hiroko
Warhol's 1974 solo exhibition at the Daimaru Department Store in Tokyo and Kobe brought him attention in Japan. In 1983, he produced his Kiku series on the motif of chrysanthemums, a traditional symbolic flower in Japan. Three art professionals who were directly involved with Warhol's exhibitions in Japan or the creation of the Kiku series, will relate untold stories of the making of the Kiku series and Warhol's reception in Japan.

We are happy to announce that Mr. Morimura Yasumasa will be our special guest of this year's Annual Cocktail Party. Mr. Morimura, whose solo exhibition has been held at The Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh last year, is an artist deeply related to Andy Warhol. Mr. Morimura kindly agreed to talk about Warhol during his most busy schedule as Artistic Director of Yokohama Triennale 2014.
Born in 1951 in Osaka, where he continues to live and work. After completing his graduate degree at Kyoto City University of Arts, he made his debut in 1985 with self-portrait works based on his personal interpretation of Vincent van Gogh. He has since produced number of self-portrait based photograph and video works, identifying with art-historical images, film stars, and iconic figures from the 20th century. He has exhibited worldwide, including the Apeto section of the 43rd Venice Biennale in 1988.
