On Content Alternation of Talk Session 3: “From Pollens to the Cosmos”
We regret to inform you that artist Wolfgang Laib's visit to Japan has been postponed due to some health reasons.
In this session, the originally-planned content will be altered and Mori Art Museum Director Kataoka Mami, also a Co-Curator of Listen to the Sound of the Earth Turning, will introduce Wolfgang Laib’s practice by focusing on the works featured in the exhibition. She will additionally introduce “From Pollens to the Cosmos” as the overall composition of the exhibition.
An Artist Talk program will be organized on the occasion of Mr. Laib’s visit to Japan. Details will be announced in the Mori Art Museum E-mail News (MAM NEWS) and on this website once determined.
Over the last couple of years an invisible virus has stolen our everyday, dramatically disrupting our way of life, and our state of mind. Listen to the Sound of the Earth Turning explores the realities of living with this new pandemic era, and also the nature of “wellbeing,” i.e., the holistic health of both body and mind, from some of the multiple perspectives found in contemporary art.
To coincide with the exhibition’s opening, as part of the Mori Art Museum learning program we have planned a two-day symposium inviting a range of experts to join us, alongside members of the public, for face-to-face discussion on the issues interrogated by the exhibition.
On day one, these leading figures in their fields will be invited to join a discussion on the concept of wellbeing - that is, to “live well” - from the perspective of their respective areas of expertise. And on day two, three artists featured in the exhibition will delve further into ideas around the connection between art and wellbeing. Don’t miss this opportunity to think about what “living well” means to you.
