Documentation
This exhibition examines the early days of video art in Taiwan through documents and works of art. It condenses the essence of the exhibition Rewind :Video Art in Taiwan 1983-1999 held at the Kuandu Museum of Fine Arts in Taipei in 2015, and is restructured with a focus on the relationship with Japan. This publication is packed with content, including essays by the exhibition curators, texts on the artists, a timeline of the activities of the exhibiting artists including Japan-Taiwan relations, installation views from the exhibition, and an overview of the related project MAM Screen 019: The Dawn of Taiwanese Video Art in the 1980s-1990s (Screening) being held at the same time as the exhibition.
