Documentation
Jinushi Maiko has, to date, presented video-based installations on the themes of love or death, which are fundamental concepts for humans but which are also difficult to grasp. In her new work for MAM Project, Mishearings, she uses a mysterious sound she heard in the past as a clue to create a rich, poetic space in the museum’s exhibition room that exists between the various phenomena and technologies that surround our lives and our senses that perceive them. In addition to images of the exhibition contents and descriptive essays, this documentation also features a long interview that covers not only her latest work, Mishearings, but also looks at her important past works. This publication allows you to learn more about and enjoy Jinushi Maiko’s work, which is attracting more and more attention both in Japan and overseas.
