What is Generative AI? : Glossary to better enjoy MACHINE LOVE #1

This glossary introduces some technical terms that will enhance your experience of the MACHINE LOVE exhibition. Selected terms describe the technologies and ideas used or explored by the participating artists.

The glossary was created by the Mori Art Museum by editing short definitions generated by ChatGPT. It is meant to enrich the understanding of the exhibition, therefore, each description should not be considered universally applicable.

Generative AI
A model of machine learning that automatically creates new data and content by leveraging large amounts of learned data. It can draw pictures, compose music, and write texts.

A virtual space on the internet where people can interact with others and enjoy various services. In the metaverse, you can chat with others, play games, and participate in events using your avatar. It is a place where you can enjoy experiences similar to the real world in a digital space.

3DCG (3D computer graphics)
A technology that uses a computer to create three-dimensional objects in virtual space and represent them as images and video. It is utilized in various fields such as games, movies, and architecture, creating characters, backgrounds, and building designs in three dimensions. This allows for the realistic depiction of things that do not exist in reality.
