2020.3.9 [Mon]
In September 2019, Mori Art Museum hosted an international symposium “What Do Collections Mean to Museums ?” with M+, scheduled to open in West Kowloon Cultural District in Hong Kong in late 2020. In the 2-day Symposium, curators and directors from the Asia-Pacific region discussed about the potential of museum collections.
Ahead of the symposium, three staff members of M+ flew into Tokyo to stay for two weeks. During their stay, the M+ staff members exchanged opinions about various themes surrounding professions in art and museums with the Mori Art Museum staff. They also networked with the local gallerists and staff from other museums to establish relationships and/or solidify the foundation among one another.
