Documentation
Curtis Tamm stayed in Japan for his research, and presented two new works, Spelling for Protection against Oneself (2019) and The Bell Makers of Makabe (2019) in MAM Project 026: Curtis Tamm.
This publication focuses on these two works, by featuring installation photographs and more. It also comprises Tamm’s statement, an essay by the exhibition curator, and an overview of the artist’s research in Japan from 2017 to 2018 and examines some of Tamm’s unique thinking and practice that emerged during this period, including the background and context in which these works were created.
